Refreshing a digital platform for community engagement and communication

Overview

Helen Haines MP is the official website for Helen Haines, Independent Federal Member for Indi.

GRZZ partnered with the Helen Haines team to redesign and refresh the website, creating a clearer, more modern platform designed to better communicate policy, engage voters and support ongoing campaign and community communication efforts.

The project focused on improving usability, strengthening content structure and modernising the overall user experience while ensuring the platform remained flexible, secure and easy for internal staff to manage.

The Challenge

The existing platform required both visual and technical improvements to better support the fast-moving nature of political communication and community engagement.

The website needed to:

  • Better communicate policies and initiatives

  • Improve user engagement and conversion pathways

  • Simplify content management for staff

  • Modernise the visual presentation

  • Strengthen performance and security

  • Support responsive use across all devices

As with many content-heavy WordPress environments, maintaining consistency and ensuring content could be updated quickly and efficiently was a key consideration throughout the project.

Thank you for your work on Helen’s website — the CTA button and the newsletter pop-up have seen a real marked increase in engagement and we have also had really good feedback that the website was powerful in communicating Helen’s policies to voters during the campaign.

Clear positioning from day one

The homepage establishes Data Centres Australia as the national representative body for the sector and clearly articulates its role from the outset.

Launching a peak body with no existing visual identity, no website and a fixed launch date leaves little room for iteration. GRZZ moved quickly without cutting corners — refining the logo, developing a cohesive visual language and building a site that felt credible and established from day one. Critically, they understood both the sector and the brief: an organisation positioning Australia as a regional hub for AI infrastructure and sustainable data centre development doesn't need to be flashy — it needs to be authoritative, clear and easy to navigate. GRZZ recognised what the site needed to do, and just as importantly, what it didn't.

The layout was intentionally clean and structured, with clear pathways to insights, reports, updates and background information - allowing government, media and industry visitors to quickly understand the organisation's purpose in just a few steps.

Our Approach

Helen Haines, Health and Aged Care

GRZZ completed a comprehensive refresh of the existing WordPress platform, combining front-end improvements with structural and administrative enhancements behind the scenes.

Key deliverables included:

  • Overhaul of the existing WordPress setup

  • Updates to the content architecture and admin experience

  • Application of updated branding and style guidelines

  • Creation of new content sections and templates

  • WordPress template development

  • Code optimisation and performance improvements

  • Responsive implementation across desktop and mobile

  • Security hardening and login protection systems

Particular attention was given to improving editor workflows, ensuring the internal team could add and update content quickly during busy communication and campaign periods.

Security was also an important consideration, with additional measures implemented to strengthen account protection and reduce vulnerability to automated attacks and unauthorised access attempts.

Membership Page

Capturing early momentum

The Membership page was designed to support one of the site’s core objectives: building a connected and engaged stakeholder base.

With strong early interest across the sector, the page provides a clear, friction-free pathway for organisations to learn more and register their interest — capturing momentum at a critical stage of the launch.

Early Impact

The final result is a modern, flexible and secure platform that allows the Helen Haines team to communicate more effectively with their audience while maintaining a streamlined publishing workflow internally.

The refreshed website delivers:

  • Improved user engagement

  • Clearer communication pathways

  • Faster and easier content management

  • Stronger security foundations

  • Better responsiveness across devices

  • A more polished and accessible user experience

The project demonstrates the importance of combining strong visual communication with scalable content systems and dependable technical implementation.
