Building a flexible content platform for research, projects and community impact
Overview
Community Power Agency is an organisation focused on community-led climate, energy and social change initiatives across Australia.
GRZZ partnered with design agency Cúpla to deliver a modern, content-rich platform that supports Community Power Agency’s extensive body of projects, research, resources and news content.
Following the design phase, GRZZ worked directly with the client to implement the platform, refine content structures and develop a scalable system that allows complex information to remain organised, discoverable and easy to manage over time.
“Matt from GRZZ did an amazing job leading the redevelopment of our website! He was incredibly friendly, easy to work with and super collaborative throughout the entire process. His work was not only fast but also of exceptional quality. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend GRZZ to anyone looking for a top-notch web developer. Thanks, Matt!”
The Challenge
Community Power Agency produces a large and continually evolving collection of:
Research articles
Community projects
Resources and publications
Team member profiles
News and updates
Advocacy and engagement content
The key challenge was ensuring all of this information remained interconnected and easy for users to navigate without overwhelming the experience.
The platform also needed to:
Support flexible relationships between content types
Allow advanced filtering and categorisation
Showcase team member contributions clearly
Remain scalable for ongoing content growth
Maintain a clean and accessible user experience across devices
Because of the depth of information involved, content architecture and usability were central to the success of the project.
Our Approach
Working from the visual direction developed alongside Cúpla, GRZZ handled the technical implementation and development of the platform with a strong focus on flexibility, scalability and content relationships.
Key areas of focus included:
Responsive WordPress development
Custom content architecture
Dynamic relationships between content types
Advanced filtering systems
Flexible news and resource management
Performance optimisation
Scalable admin workflows
Structured template development
One particularly valuable feature of the platform is the ability to assign Projects, Resources and News content directly to individual team members.
This creates rich interconnected profile pages that allow users to easily explore the work and contributions associated with each person within the organisation.
For example, team profiles dynamically surface related projects, publications and articles, creating a far more connected and discoverable content experience.
The News section was also developed with flexible filtering systems using categories and tags, allowing users to quickly browse relevant topics and content areas.
Content & User Experience
The platform was designed to support deep exploration of content while maintaining clarity and usability.
Rather than treating Projects, Resources and News as isolated sections, the system connects content throughout the website to create richer user journeys and stronger contextual discovery.
This structured approach helps users:
Discover related content more easily
Understand team expertise and involvement
Navigate large content collections intuitively
Filter information based on areas of interest
Engage more deeply with the organisation’s work
At the same time, the backend remains manageable and scalable for internal editors and administrators.
The Outcome
The final result is a modern and highly flexible content platform that supports Community Power Agency’s ongoing growth and communication efforts.
The website delivers:
Stronger content discoverability
Better organisation of complex information
Rich interconnected content relationships
Scalable publishing workflows
Improved usability across devices
A more professional and accessible digital presence
The project demonstrates the value of combining thoughtful content architecture with flexible development systems to support organisations managing large and evolving bodies of information.
